This program is truly transformative and ensures that students with vision impairments are not left behind, putting them on the path to a brighter future.
How can my child participate?
To participate, you need to complete the online consent form provided by your school or request a paper consent form.
All Foundation (Prep) to Year 3 students at eligible schools can participate. You do not need to have a health care card.
Getting glasses through the Glasses for Kids program can help your child see better. This makes it easier for them to learn, read, and play at school. Good vision helps children do their best in class and feel more confident every day.
This is a free service for all participating students, provided by State Schools' Relief with support from the Victorian State Government.
How can my school get involved?
770 schools with the highest Student Family Occupation and Education (SFOE) Index will be invited by the Department of Education to participate in the program.
Should a school decline this invitation, the school with next highest SFOE Index will be invited to participate.
Schools will be advised of their scheduling two terms in advance of the proposed visit.
