If left unaddressed, a vision impairment can affect the lifelong learning capabilities of a child. Glasses for Kids helps alleviate this by providing an onsite service to kids whilst they are at school, to address vision impairments that may have otherwise gone undiagnosed.
The first step in our program is a vision screening conducted at the school, which helps pinpoint students who might need additional eye testing. This service is provided onsite at the school, ensuring that any undetected vision issues can be promptly identified and addressed.
For those children who need it, an onsite eye test is conducted by an accredited optometrists on the same day, immediately following the initial vision screening.
For those students who are identified as having vision issues, we then provide them with custom made, high-quality glasses, ensuring that each child receives the perfect pair to aid their learning.
Glasses for Kids acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia along with the Traditional Owners of the land upon which we are based, the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’s continuing connection to land, water, and community and we pay our respect to Elders past and present.
